A lower number isn't automatically a price cut. Semrush's current $99 toolkit shouldn't be described as an 87% reduction from the old $745 figure unless the original and current packages can be matched. Likewise, Ahrefs' $50 custom-prompt plan isn't a discounted version of its $699 all-platform index access. Semrush's documentation and Ahrefs' documentation distinguish the offers. [20, 19, 43]
A higher monthly offer doesn't prove a cheaper plan disappeared. Rankscale's main cards feature Pro at $99/month, but its comparison table also lists annual-only Essentials with a $17/month display. An old price shouldn't become a current quote by default. We haven't carried Hall's $239 or ArcAI's $3,000 forward as verified current purchase prices. Profound's agency client-workspace fee also needs its base subscription added before it becomes an all-in cost. Profound's agency documentation lists the $399 client-workspace add-on separately. We identified candidates through Rankability tracking reports, then checked vendor-owned pricing pages and documentation. The table separates recurring prompt allowances from credits and flags terms we couldn't confirm. [44]

Five Pricing Details Agencies Should Check
1. Recurring Prompts Aren't the Same as AI Answers
A prompt is the question you want to monitor. For our workload calculation, a check is one scheduled request to one engine for that prompt.
A 1,000-credit allowance can't be converted into a prompt allowance until you know what each engine costs and how often it runs.
Rankscale, for example, distinguishes unlimited saved search terms from credit-limited execution. Saving more questions doesn't create more monitoring capacity. [2]
2. Supported Engines Aren't Necessarily Included Engines
Otterly includes ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Copilot in its standard coverage, with other engines sold as add-ons. Searchable includes ChatGPT, AI Overviews, and Perplexity, while additional engines have separate charges. [1, 38]
Also name the exact Google surface you need. Gemini, AI Mode, and AI Overviews shouldn't be treated as one interchangeable line item. A plan that covers one doesn't establish coverage of the others. [1, 38]
3. Weekly Tracking Isn't Daily Tracking
LLM Pulse lists Starter at €49/month for weekly tracking and €79/month for daily tracking. Both include 50 prompts, but they don't buy the same monitoring schedule. [31]
4. Annual Equivalents and Promotions Aren't Regular Monthly Prices
Similarweb's reviewed offer is $129/month on monthly billing or $99/month billed annually. Listing only $99 would understate the price for someone buying month to month. [40]
Promotional prices need their own labels. Clearscope's separate offer advertises $99/month for six months before returning to $129. That's different from an ongoing $99 subscription. [42]
Before comparing offers, write down the amount charged, billing period, promotional duration, and renewal price.
5. Unlimited Clients Doesn't Mean Unlimited Monitoring
An unlimited-workspace policy removes a limit on how many client spaces you can create. It doesn't necessarily increase the prompts, checks, or credits available to those clients.
Rankability's allowances, for example, are shared across client workspaces. Creating another workspace doesn't add another pool of tracked queries. [11]
For a hypothetical agency with 10 clients and 50 distinct prompts per client, that's 500 recurring prompts. Across three engines checked daily for 30 days, the workload becomes 45,000 requested checks. Price that portfolio, not just the first client. [44]
How Much Should Your Agency Budget?
For a Small Pilot: Start With a Defined Prompt Set
A limited pilot can use a small fixed-price plan, such as Otterly Lite at $29/month for 15 prompts or Orchly Essential at $49/month for 25 daily prompts. [1, 32]
Choosing a Plan for 100 Daily Prompts
Use the 100-prompt comparison to shortlist plans for that workload.
During evaluation, inspect actual answers, citations, timestamps, location settings, exports, and reporting access. Matching the price and prompt count doesn't establish matching data quality.
For Multiple Clients or Enterprise Requirements: Price the Full Scope
Build the quote around your client portfolio, required engines, countries, languages, tracking frequency, team access, reporting, and integrations.
Your all-in subscription cost should include the base plan plus any required client workspaces, prompt or credit packs, engine add-ons, seats, and reporting or API charges. Keep implementation and services fees separate so you can see what you're paying for software.
Pay more when you need additional capacity, workflow features, or contractual commitments.
Where Rankability Fits
Rankability combines AI visibility tracking with agency content, audit, and reporting workflows. Its current monthly plans are Starter at $97 for 100 tracked AI queries, Agency at $297 for 300, and Agency Pro at $497 for 500. [11]
All three include daily tracking across the same 11 supported AI platforms, unlimited client workspaces and team members, branded reports, and API/MCP access. Usage allowances are shared across clients; Google keyword tracking and local scans have separate limits. [11]
Evaluate whether you need the content and delivery tools. A dedicated tracker may suit an agency that already has those workflows covered.
How We Collected and Compared the Data
We preserved the 21 original price records and added 19 reviewed product or product-family entries. The total of 40 doesn't mean 40 independent companies: SE Visible and SE Ranking, for example, share a parent. [39, 43, 44]
Candidate discovery used a Rankability report export spanning September 18 through October 16, 2026. It contained 761 deduplicated AI answers across 70 tracked topics. Structured brand labels were available for 691 answers. [44]
Those labels helped identify products to investigate. They aren't market share, recommendations, or an exhaustive list of every brand in the answer text. The topic set includes alternatives and comparison queries, so it isn't a random sample of the market. [44]
Pricing came from vendor-owned pages and official documentation, not from the AI answers. We retained native currencies and distinguished monthly billing, annual equivalents, temporary offers, credit packages, and custom quotes. Unverified values remain labeled rather than being treated as zero. [44]
We haven't published a new blended “market average” because those different purchase types don't form a consistent comparison. A defensible price-trend calculation would need matching products, billing terms, and workloads at both observation points.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the Cheapest AI Visibility Tracking Tool?
Among the reviewed offers, Keyword.com advertises a configuration from $9.80/month, while Rankscale displays annual-only Essentials at $17/month. Their complete entry configurations weren't verified in this study. [3, 2]
For a defined fixed-price monthly example, Otterly Lite is $29/month for 15 daily prompts across four included engines. That doesn't make it the cheapest option for every workload or establish superior results. [1]
Have AI Visibility Tools Become Cheaper?
Some current entry offers are lower than the amounts we previously published. Other differences involve annual billing, different packages, or a price that we can no longer verify. [43, 2, 7, 9, 20]

It can cover the specific 100-prompt, three-engine daily workload in several plans shown above. It isn't automatically enough for multiple clients, more prompts, additional locations, or required reporting features.
